Three documents run the night-time economy

Premises licence

Lets a pub, shop, restaurant or venue sell alcohol, put on entertainment or serve hot food after 11pm. It lasts until surrendered, revoked or lapsed, so most on this register are years old and still in force.

Club premises certificate

The members' club version: British Legions, working men's clubs, sports clubs. Alcohol is supplied to members and their guests rather than sold to the public.

New applications

Before a licence is granted, the application is advertised and anyone can comment. We flag pending applications as councils publish them, so you can see what is coming to your street.
